When I travel, I swear I am going to remember all the details, and then of course I come home and it has all vanished. And so I said I would keep a journal or some notes, and of course that didn't happen either. So the next best thing is to write it up after the fact and use that to recall the experiences and to share with friends.
Being the geeks that we are, we use spreadsheets, calendars, and Google's "My Maps" to plan our trips and track our reservations. I'd love to be able to share those but it would require too much cleanup to make them intelligible to anyone else. You can follow our itinerary in the writeups. While I hope you find them enjoyable and maybe even useful for planning your own trips, it is not my intent to offer you a detailed or comprehensive travel guide or history. Other people can do that much better than I, and I don't want to give you too much to read. I have tried to link to sources of more information that I hope you will find helpful.
